Are you a Yukon resident who is pursuing studies in nursing? Consider applying for the Rebecca Pollard Legacy Grant. The grant is in honor of our beloved Rebecca, a magnificent nurse and a wonderful human being. This annual grant of $5000 helps to keep Rebecca’s mission of bettering the lives of others thriving.

What are the basics? The Rebecca Pollard Legacy Grant awards $5000 to one successful applicant, made payable after the official withdrawal date of the institution.

What is the eligibility? If you’ve lived in the Yukon for at least a year and you are in a post-secondary nursing program in the 2024-2025 year, you are eligible to apply.

How is the recipient selected? The Yukon T1D Support Network is looking for four things:

    •  Financial need. Do you feel that you need help to make ends meeting during your studies? If so, you should apply!
    •  Commitment to helping patients living with Type 1 diabetes. You don’t need to know the ins and outs about Type 1, but it does go a long way if you’ve done some simple research on the impact the disease has on people, especially on young adults.
    •  Willingness to be publicly identified as the recipient. You’re that awesome and we need to show everyone how truly great you are.
    •  An authentic desire to start or continue your nursing career in the Yukon. Yukoners need people exactly like you, ready and willing to roll up their sleeves and do the hard work that nursing entails.
