My name is Marney Paradis and I am Chair of the Yukon T1D Support Network, a local non-profit organization that works with persons who have Type 1 diabetes. Myself and Jill Nash, Vice President, were hoping to come and speak to you about the K-12 policies that govern the management of medication in schools. We have sent letters to the Minister of Education outlining how the policy that is currently in force does not adequately protect children. We also have met with the Canadian Paediatric Society, as they give the Yukon Government a rating of “poor” in the support of children with Type 1 diabetes.
